    Ridgeview-10National Trails Day will be celebrated at the Broomfield Trail Adventure on Saturday, June 6, 2015. This year, the event will be hosted at the Legacy High School Park, just to the west of the school parking lot. Trail routes will follow the Lake Link Trail around Plaster Reservoir and along the Quail Creek area. The event begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. and concludes around 10 a.m. Participants will be treated to refreshments, t-shirts, and prizes. Also, the "Broomfield 100" will be kicked off at the Trail Adventure, and will carry on throughout the summer. The Broomfield 100 is a community challenge that highlights approximately 100 miles of trails in and around Broomfield. For more information on the Broomfield 100 challenge, please visit http://www.broomfield.org/broomfield100. The Broomfield Trail Adventure and the Broomfield 100 share the purpose of promoting the local trail system and providing fun events for family outdoor recreation.

    Broomfield Days begins on Friday, September 18, 2015 with a Golf tournament, concert and Bingo games - being held on Saturday, September 19, 2015. This day is packed with activities including a 5K race, a clown contest, a parade, a trade fair, a craft festival, food booths, three stages of entertainment, demonstrations, and great community spirit.     The 15th annual Broomfield Trail Adventure will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016. BTA 2014The event will be hosted at East Park, in the Interlocken area (280 Interlocken Blvd.).

    As always, the event will take place on National Trails Day and will be one of many events celebrated across the country to celebrate trails and the outdoors. Please join us at East Park for a scenic walking loop (2.5 miles) or a biking route on the newly opened US-36 Bikeway Trail. There will also be a short loop around the East Park area for children and families. Dogs on leash always welcome! Check out maps of the designated routes.

    There will be a variety of prizes, refreshments, and educational tables at the event for the whole family. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the event will kick off at 8 a.m. This event is free of charge and will be held rain or shine.

    Join us for an educational event at Metzger Farm Open Space located at 12080 Lowell Blvd, Westminster, CO 80234. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with two 15-minute presentations. The first will be on species interactions at Metzger Farm by Holly D’Oench of Broomfield’s Open Space and Trails department. Martin Ogle of Lafayette Open Space will give the second presentation on bird migration.
    After the presentations, we will spend an hour and a half walking the trails and birding at Metzger Farm. The trails are crusher fines and wheelchair accessible. There is also a large pond with a dock where we will be able to view active great blue heron nests.
