Feb. 12, 2025: “Birds of Winter” With Dawn Wilson, Award-Winning Local Nature Photographer
Many people think birds migrate south to warmer climates for the winter. They do, but south is relative to where the birds start. Colorado is actually south for many birds who spend their summers in the arctic and Canada. There are even birds that migrate out of the mountains and into the valleys of Colorado. This dynamic presentation will cover not just which birds nature enthusiasts may encounter in Colorado in the winter, but also why they spend the colder months here in the Centennial State. Information covered will also include how to spot birds, tips for photographing birds in winter and how to prepare for being outdoors in winter. Finally, if winter means warmer temperatures for you as well, Dawn will cover some other great locations to bird watch in winter. The entire presentation will be filled with her award-winning photography and fun stories behind the photos.
