DESCRIPTION:On March 6th The Speaker Series will host a discussion on “Pikas in Peril: Engaging Colorado Citizens in Pika Conservation” For nearly 8 years\, the Front Range Pika Project\, co-directed by the Denver Zoo and Rocky Mountain Wild\, has engaged Coloradoans in citizen science research on the impacts of climate change on the distribution and habitat characteristics of the American Pika. Erica Garroutte the Conservation Outreach Coordinator for the Denver Zoo will lead a discussion on lessons earned on how to develop and implement collaborative citizen science programs that support management needs. \n
